Fund Finance Intern (Financial Institutions)

About the role

ING's Financial Institutions (FI) sector provides relationship management, multi-product sales and structured lending to banks and non-bank financial institutions such as sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, pension funds and asset managers. Fund Finance is a strategic suite of products offering financing solutions to these clients, and Fund Finance APAC works with teams in London, Luxembourg and New York. This 6-month internship runs from January to June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Fund Finance APAC team on the origination and execution of capital call facilities and other solutions for private equity, private debt, real estate and infrastructure funds.
• Assist in managing clients and transactions, including customer due diligence, deal support and client monitoring.
• Prepare communications for internal stakeholders on pipeline, transaction status and portfolio updates.
• Cooperate with other ING teams and help on ad hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• 2nd to final year undergraduate with a demonstrated interest in banking and finance.
• Basic understanding of how a wholesale bank operates and its business model.
• Ability to work within deadlines with limited supervision and a high level of initiative.
• Willingness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and the bank.
• Prior exposure to structured lending or fund finance concepts is advantageous.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
