General Assurance Data Analytics Intern (Nanyang Technological University)

About the role

PwC's General Assurance practice helps organisations improve corporate reporting and comply with regulatory and contractual requirements. This internship runs from December 2026 to August 2027 and combines general assurance work with data analytics, supported by NTU students in the Work-Study Degree Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team with assurance assignments: analyse and organise financial data, perform simple audit procedures such as inspecting accounting records, evaluate results and prepare audit documentation, liaise with clients for documents and assist in the financial statements review.
• Cleanse and transform data using Alteryx and SQL, and launch analyses on processes such as journal entries, payroll and procurement.
• Drive report integrity and computation reviews, and carry out data quality checks and reconciliations.
• Build data visualisation dashboards in Tableau or Power BI to spot trends, outliers and patterns.
• Help move from traditional analytical tools and rule-based workflows to agentic AI and generative AI approaches (e.g. Copilot and ChatPwC).
• Present findings to internal leaders and external clients, resolve data discrepancies with stakeholders, recommend process improvements and deliver multiple concurrent audit support jobs on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Accountancy student in Sustainability Management and Analytics participating in the NTU Work-Study Degree Programme.
• Deep interest in audit and the digitalisation of the profession.
• Quick learner of new tools, motivated, confident, creative, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a service-oriented approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency in query languages such as SQL.
• Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Qlik Sense or Power BI.
• Knowledge of data automation tools such as Alteryx and VBA is not mandatory.
