General Manager (Japanese Speaking) - Logistics

About the role

A multinational logistics and supply chain company with a strong presence across Asia and other global markets is hiring a General Manager in Central, Singapore. The role covers sales and corporate functions, with coordination with Japan Headquarters and overseas offices. It is a full-time, permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage sales and corporate functions in Singapore to achieve operational excellence and drive measurable business growth
• Develop and execute customized business and sales strategies for logistics services to increase revenue and market share
• Oversee full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, financial planning and performance monitoring against profitability targets
• Lead and coordinate multiple departments to improve collaboration and team performance
• Align strategies and report progress accurately with Japan Headquarters and overseas offices
• Drive operational improvements through digitalization and IT initiatives
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, governance standards and local regulations
• Carry out other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned

Required profile

• At least 9-10 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding
• Proven management experience covering both sales and corporate functions
• Experience in a Japanese company environment preferred
• Regional experience overseeing cross-border operations, such as Singapore, SEA or other overseas markets
• Business-level Japanese proficiency to communicate with Japanese stakeholders

Required skills

• Knowledge of IT systems, digital transformation (DX) initiatives or business process improvement
• Strong leadership, decision-making and execution skills

What we offer

• Salary of SGD 6,000-10,000 per year (negotiable)
• Working hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
