Global Sustainability and ESG Intern

About the role

The Global Sustainability and ESG Intern will join PIL Group’s sustainability division to support the company’s environmental performance initiatives. This 3‑to‑6‑month placement offers hands‑on exposure to ESG reporting, greenhouse‑gas inventory, and industry research within a leading maritime organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the Sustainability Report 2025, including data collection and editorial tasks.
• Gather and manage data for the GHG inventory 2025.
• Research and benchmark ESG‑linked practices across the maritime sector.
• Monitor industry sustainability developments and prepare monthly updates for senior management.
• Support the rollout of PIL Eco‑rise climate learning modules.
• Help organise and facilitate ESG outreach events.
• Administer ongoing ESG initiatives such as the GCAM scorecard.
• Draft communications for internal and external sustainability projects.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a degree program (3rd year or higher) in environmental science, sustainability, business, maritime studies, or a related field.
• Strong interest in maritime sustainability and ESG frameworks.
• Curious, self‑motivated, and able to work independently.
