Head of Back-of-House Operations

About the role

Paradox Singapore is seeking a senior leader to head all back‑of‑house functions, including Engineering & Sustainability and Housekeeping & Stewarding. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for ensuring the hotel’s operational infrastructure runs efficiently, safely and sustainably while supporting an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Engineering, Sustainability, Housekeeping and Stewarding teams.
• Develop and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, hygiene standards and environmental performance.
• Lead internal audit projects to identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Champion Green Mark certification, environmental goals and compliance with local regulations.
• Oversee renovation and asset‑enhancement projects, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to safety and sustainability standards.
• Manage departmental budgets, CAPEX and OPEX proposals, and monitor key performance indicators.
• Supervise contracts, vendor performance and regulatory compliance.
• Recruit, develop and manage the back‑of‑house team, including performance reviews and scheduling.
• Conduct routine inspections, hygiene audits and spot checks to enforce safety, maintenance and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in hotel back‑of‑house operations or a comparable hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of engineering systems, sustainability practices and housekeeping standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets, capital projects and cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent understanding of local safety, hygiene and environmental regulations.
• Track record of driving operational improvements and achieving certification targets.
