Head of DevOps

About the role

This senior position leads transformational DevOps initiatives for a globally‑operating, technology‑driven financial institution. You will shape cloud infrastructure, developer experience, automation, resiliency and platform engineering at massive scale, working closely with senior technology and business leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise‑wide DevOps and platform engineering strategy across global technology organisations.
• Modernise infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, observability, automation and site‑reliability engineering practices.
• Build scalable, secure, highly resilient platforms supporting mission‑critical banking and trading applications.
• Drive cloud transformation across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
• Champion engineering excellence, developer productivity, automation‑first culture and operational resilience.
• Partner with CTOs, application development leaders, cybersecurity, infrastructure and business stakeholders.
• Establish best practices for release engineering, infrastructure as code, containerisation and platform security.
• Lead globally distributed teams of DevOps engineers, SREs, platform engineers and technical leads.
• Manage large‑scale technology programmes, budgets, vendor relationships and strategic transformation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, risk and operational requirements in a highly regulated financial environment.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in infrastructure, DevOps, cloud or platform engineering within large‑scale enterprises.
• Proven leadership of global engineering organisations and large transformation programmes.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience operating in highly regulated industries such as financial services, banking or fintech (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
