Head of Procurement – West (up to $13,000/month)

About the role

The Head of Procurement & Contracts will lead the end‑to‑end procurement function for a fast‑growing logistics and port services organisation. This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships and ensuring robust contract governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
• Oversee sourcing, tendering, negotiation and contract award processes.
• Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
• Drive cost‑optimisation initiatives while maintaining quality and service levels.
• Strengthen supplier partnerships and implement performance‑management frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and risk frameworks.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across operations, finance and legal.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of procurement and contract management experience, preferably in logistics, maritime, infrastructure or heavy industries.
• Proven track record leading procurement teams and handling complex contracts.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Experience delivering cost efficiencies and process improvements.
• Solid understanding of contract law, risk mitigation and supplier management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field; professional certifications such as CIPS are a plus.
