Head of Structure

About the role

The Head of Structure leads all structural activities on a construction site, ensuring that works are executed safely, on time, and within budget while meeting design and regulatory standards. This senior position coordinates the structural team, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver high‑quality foundations, concrete, steel, and related works.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on‑site structural construction activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor progress against the project schedule.
• Review structural drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and authority requirements.
• Supervise site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site inspections, resolve technical issues, and manage temporary works.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to management.
• Prepare reports on work progress, inspections, and site issues.
• Manage sequencing of structural work to avoid clashes with other trades.
• Identify project risks and propose corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–15 years of construction experience with strong structural site exposure.
• Experience on high‑rise, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent planning, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Commercial awareness and cost‑optimization mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with project management tools.
