Head, Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) - APAC

About the role

Ingredion is looking for a Head of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) for the APAC region. The role provides strategic leadership for SRA across the region, helping the company navigate complex regulatory environments, protect existing business, enable market access and support the commercialization of ingredient solutions. It leads the regional SRA team and sits on the Global SRA Leadership Team. Singapore is preferred, but Malaysia, Thailand, China and India may be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the APAC SRA strategy and turn regional business priorities into scientific and regulatory plans for market access and commercialization.
• Oversight of regulatory compliance, product registrations, pre-market approvals, labeling, claims and regulatory positioning across APAC markets.
• Partner with Business, Innovation, Marketing, Quality, Legal and Operations, giving science-based guidance and managing regulatory risk.
• Anticipate emerging regulatory developments and advise on risks, opportunities and market impact.
• Represent the company with industry associations and regulatory bodies, and represent APAC on the Global SRA Leadership Team.
• Educate internal stakeholders on market requirements, labeling, claims and regulatory differences across APAC.
• Lead and develop the APAC SRA team.

Required profile

• Degree in Applied Biological Sciences, Nutrition, Food Science or another relevant scientific discipline; a Master's or PhD preferred.
• Significant experience in Scientific or Regulatory Affairs, ideally in food ingredients, FMCG or government food and agriculture regulation.
• Proven people leadership experience, able to work across multicultural and geographically dispersed environments.
• Strong influencing, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.

Required skills

• Product registration, regulatory approvals and market access across APAC.
• Knowledge of food regulatory frameworks and APAC regulatory structures; Codex standards are an advantage.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory changes and explain them to senior business leaders and technical audiences.
