Hedge Fund Accounting Senior Associate

About the role

State Street is recruiting a Hedge Fund Accounting Senior Associate in Singapore to join its Alternative Investment Solutions (AIS) team, which provides fund accounting, fund administration and risk services to hedge funds, private markets and other alternative investment vehicles. The role supports the Officer/AVP in delivering end-to-end fund administration, provides on-the-job training and acts as the main point of contact for internal teams, external clients and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• NAV operations: coordinate workflow and prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly NAV packs, including cash and position reconciliations, portfolio pricing validation, income and expense accruals, partner/shareholder allocations and fund return analysis
• Keep abreast of new accounting standards and ensure compliance on all accounts, and implement on-the-job training with consistent coaching and mentoring
• Evaluate staffing needs, ensure controls and procedures are followed and improve them where necessary
• Support client migration and new client onboarding, and take part in special projects as required
• Build relationships with investment managers, brokers and auditors, deliver NAV-related reports and proactively resolve client issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; professional accounting or finance qualification and/or a Master's degree is a plus
• 4+ years of experience in accounting or financial services; strong client relationship experience preferred
• Progress toward or possession of a professional qualification such as CFA, CPA or ACCA is a plus

Required skills

• Good verbal and written English, including report writing
• Good knowledge of hedge fund accounting, NAV calculations, fund structures and investment products
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
• Strong organisational and time management skills, and confidence handling difficult situations with minimal supervision
• Growth mindset, adopting AI and digital tools to improve effectiveness
