Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Technician is a full‑time, on‑site position at Dorsett Changi City Singapore, responsible for maintaining the safety, comfort and operational efficiency of hotel facilities, guest rooms and public areas. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure all building systems run smoothly and support event setups when required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems across the property.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and resolve building‑system issues promptly, responding to guest and staff maintenance requests.
• Document all work performed and update maintenance management systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, front‑office, housekeeping and events teams to coordinate work and support event setups.
• Monitor equipment performance, report recurring problems and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and guest experience.

Required profile

• Technical knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance.
• Experience using hand tools, diagnostic equipment and maintenance management software.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices, building codes and preventive maintenance procedures in a hospitality environment.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced hotel.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multiple hotel departments.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as needed.
• Relevant technical certification or diploma (e.g., electrical, mechanical or building services engineering) is preferred.
• Prior experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance is an advantage, though strong technical aptitude is valued.
