HR Assistant (1-Year Contract)

About the role

The Human Resources Assistant provides essential administrative and coordination support to the HR department of the Young Men's Christian Association of Singapore. This 1‑year contract role ensures accurate, confidential, and timely service for employee benefits, payroll, HR systems, and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to internal and external stakeholder queries.
• Verify, process and administer employee benefit claims and entitlements.
• Maintain accurate leave records and support awards and recognition processes.
• Administer all HRMS modules, liaise with the HRIS vendor, and ensure data security.
• Support HRMS projects, including enhancements, testing and implementation.
• Generate and analyse HR reports such as payroll, headcount, attrition and overtime.
• Coordinate payroll matters with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring compliance.
• Enter and maintain employee data in HRMS with strict confidentiality.
• Manage personnel files (P‑Files) within HRMS.
• Perform general admin duties including invoice payments, pantry procurement and stationery distribution.
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Required profile

• Fresh Diploma from Polytechnic in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 2‑3 years of relevant HR experience.
• Working knowledge of Singapore Employment Act and standard HR practices.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with HRMS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Competence in PowerPoint, Word and Forms.
