Human Resource & Admin Intern (6-Month Contract)

About the role

IKEA Singapore is looking for a Human Resource and Admin intern for a 6-month full-time contract, reporting to the HR manager. The intern supports the full range of HR activities that make IKEA a great place to work, helping to drive people initiatives, co-worker support and HR process improvement, while contributing to compliance, coordination and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and safeguard the IKEA culture by being a role model who expresses IKEA values in HR matters.
• Support recruitment activities such as recruitment events, applicant screening, shortlisting and interview coordination.
• Support new hire onboarding, including preparing employment contracts and letters, issuing staff items and coordinating onboarding sessions.
• Support learning and development activities, including onboarding training.
• Maintain employee p-files and other HR documents.
• Help organise company engagement events, festive celebrations and activities.
• Contribute to HR projects and day-to-day activities as assigned, and take on other duties as needed.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline.
• Ability to keep confidential and sensitive information and strong interpersonal skills.
• Organised and able to manage several tasks at once in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Able to support HR and business operations on weekends, public holidays and during peak periods.
• Commitment to a full-time internship (5 days per week) for at least 6 months.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
