Human Resources Intern (Credit Bearing)

About the role

Caterpillar is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Human Resources Intern to support its Regional HR department in Singapore. The intern handles and manages aspects of the employee life cycle and may engage with senior leaders in the Asia Pacific region. The internship must be a credit-bearing requirement of the candidate's academic program, is onsite five days a week, and lasts a minimum of six months.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing job descriptions with leaders and posting them on various platforms
• Screen candidates, coordinate interviews and negotiate packages
• Review internal HR policies and procedures and recommend improvements
• Review life and medical insurance policies and make recommendations
• Create marketing and digital content such as newsletters, infographics and short videos
• Prepare HR reports, for example training budgets by department
• Answer employee queries about benefits eligibility
• Organise virtual training and networking events
• Plan activity calendars for training and handle administrative work
• Brainstorm creatively and help market materials and campaigns for social media

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, or a student pursuing such a degree or a related field
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Eager to learn, adaptable and proactive in seeking growth
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication
• Tech-savvy, open to new ideas and technologies
• Knowledge of labour regulations in AP countries and understanding of financial business models in captive environments (learning outcomes)
