HVAC Research Intern

About the role

Join Bosch Group as an HVAC Research Intern in Singapore and gain hands‑on experience in refrigeration and HVAC system analysis. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to research projects and developing diagnostic algorithms.

Key responsibilities

• Study refrigeration cycle fundamentals and analyse HVAC system behaviour under various operating conditions, fault scenarios and anomalies.
• Develop first‑principles and physics‑guided models to characterise normal and abnormal system operation, supporting simulation studies and experimental investigations.
• Perform data analysis, feature extraction and create anomaly‑prediction and diagnostic algorithms using machine‑learning techniques.
• Validate diagnostic methodologies with simulation and experimental results and participate in technical discussions on refrigeration systems, controls and diagnostics.
• Prepare technical reports, research presentations and project demonstrations for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Available to work full‑time for 6 months starting Sep/Oct 2026.
• Pursuing or recently completed a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, controls and machine‑learning fundamentals.
• Self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving, communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or Scikit‑learn.
• Technical computing environments like MATLAB or Dymola.
• Understanding of HVAC and refrigeration system fundamentals.
