IC Design Engineer - Digital SoC

About the role

Silicon Labs is looking for an IC Design Engineer to join its digital design team, developing highly integrated mixed-signal SoCs for low-power MCU and wireless products. The engineer acts as a technical contributor, working with cross-functional teams on block specifications, RTL design, SoC integration and verification.

Key responsibilities

• Detailed block architecture and design of digital circuits, including block specifications and design approach and partitioning
• Implement designs through RTL coding while adhering to quality guidelines
• Integrate digital blocks and IP into the SoC infrastructure, including bus matrix, memory interfaces, clocking, power management and reset management
• Integrate mixed-signal and RF IP
• Verify blocks and SoC integration using directed, random and assertion-based methods, including mixed-signal modeling and cosimulation
• Develop embedded firmware to verify SoC integration and validation
• Perform requirement, architecture, design and verification reviews, and write customer-facing reference manuals and datasheets

Required profile

• PhD or Master's degree in microelectronics, or a Bachelor's in electronics engineering with at least 2 years of related experience
• Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge of IP development, SoC or ASIC design tools and methodologies, and microcontroller embedded processors
• Written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• RTL coding, firmware coding and low-power implementation (a plus)
• Cortex-M based systems (a plus)
• Verification skills such as logic simulation, testbench development and UVM (a plus)
• Design for testability, scripting languages such as Python, Perl or Tcl (a plus)
