IFM Engineer (Civil & Building Maintenance)

About the role

The IFM Engineer will be embedded within the Real Estate team to drive the identification, planning and execution of civil and building maintenance works across client facilities. Acting as the technical liaison between the Real Estate team and the appointed civil contractor, the role ensures maintenance activities are safely and efficiently delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections, identify defects and develop initial scopes of work.
• Prepare site observations, photographs, sketches and preliminary recommendations.
• Develop clear work scopes, coordinate surveys, measurements and technical information.
• Support preparation of work schedules, execution sequences and resource requirements.
• Coordinate closely with the civil contractor, review proposals, method statements and monitor manpower, materials and equipment.
• Monitor execution, highlight delays or technical issues, verify compliance with scope and standards.
• Ensure safety permits, risk assessments and method statements are in place.
• Maintain a register of identified, planned, ongoing and completed works and provide regular progress updates.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in civil/building maintenance, construction or facilities maintenance, preferably in an industrial or petrochemical environment.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and basic engineering details.
• Good understanding of civil and building repair methods and construction practices.
• Proven ability to coordinate contractors and manage multiple maintenance activities concurrently.
