IFRS17 Actuarial Specialist (2-Year Contract)

About the role

Prudential Singapore is looking for an IFRS17 Actuarial Specialist on a 2-year contract to join its IFRS17 reporting team. The role suits candidates passionate about financial reporting, particularly IFRS17, and offers a chance to work with actuarial, data and IT teams on the end-to-end reporting process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide feedback on the regional and local technical interpretation of the standards and review business requirements against technical decisions.
• Support the solution design team and IT in improving end-to-end ETL tools, and help implement changes including data, model and IFRS17 reports.
• Take part in user acceptance testing (UAT) of ETL tools, source system changes and sub-ledger systems, including business validation of IFRS17 reports.
• Ensure the end-to-end reporting process and controls for actuarial data preparation (Prophet model setup, model points and assumptions) are auditable.
• Take part in the Business Planning process for IFRS17 financials and collaborate with local and regional teams.
• Analyse and explain IFRS17 results, support initiatives to improve them, reconcile IFRS17 results with other reporting bases and support audits.
• Support the Finance division's initiative on re-engineering the reporting process.

Required profile

• 2-5 years (AM level) of actuarial experience or another analytical role; IFRS17 experience is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Qualified actuary from a recognised professional actuarial body.
• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Finance.
• Passion for financial reporting, motivated, proactive, detailed-oriented and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of insurance products.
• Good working knowledge of Prophet systems and valuation data management programs (such as SQL) is a plus.
