Innovation Designer (6‑month contract)

About the role

This 6‑month contract position in the Banking & Finance sector is a senior, director‑level role reporting to the Head of Innovation and Design. The Innovation Designer will shape and deliver customer‑centric digital and service experiences, supporting venture creation, incubation, and scaling.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end UX/UI and product design for digital platforms across the venture lifecycle.
• Translate customer needs, business strategy, and technical constraints into intuitive, scalable design solutions.
• Lead design‑led discovery activities, including user research, journey mapping, service design, and problem framing.
• Apply Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Jobs‑to‑Be‑Done, and rapid experimentation to validate concepts.
• Use AI tools to accelerate research synthesis while managing bias.
• Partner with venture CEOs, product leaders, engineers, and senior stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
• Establish design standards, accessibility, and consistency across web, mobile, and platform experiences.
• Ensure high‑quality design outputs and set evaluation criteria for AI‑generated work.

Required profile

• Senior individual contributor with director‑level accountability.
• Proven experience in human‑centred design and product design within digital ventures.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior leadership.
• Experience in banking, finance, or related regulated industries is a plus.
