Instrumental Music Teacher - Lions Music Academy

About the role

Stamford American International School, an IB World School in Singapore, is looking for instrumental music teachers to join its Lions Music Academy. The teachers build and maintain a successful music programme, teaching students aged 3 through 18 instrumental techniques, performance skills, music theory and musical awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Teach instrumental techniques, performance skills, music theory and musical awareness to students aged 3–18.
• Work together with curriculum staff teaching the IB PYP, MYP, DP, AP and BTEC programmes.
• Support the school's Music Ensemble Program.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience as an instrumental teacher working with children, with relevant qualifications.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Performance, or equivalent; professional current teacher licensure or certification is required.
• Suzuki training and registration (for Suzuki positions only).
• Experience with Trinity and/or ABRSM music examinations.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills and good references on request.
• Flexible hours during school time (7:00am – 18:30pm, Monday to Friday); Singaporeans, permanent residents and self-employed work pass holders are welcome.

• Instrumental specialisms sought: guitar (acoustic and electric), bass guitar, brass, woodwinds, traditional Chinese (Erhu), pop/jazz piano, violin, Suzuki violin, Suzuki cello and Suzuki piano.
