Intern - MSB Automation Engineer

About the role

Micron's Lean Transformation Office in MSB (990 Bendemeer Road) is looking for an intern for its Automation Tool Operational Excellence project. The project aims to help interns understand Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) used in semiconductor manufacturing and apply data analytics and structured problem-solving to find operational improvement opportunities. The internship lasts 4 to 6 months and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in recurring engineering discussions and cross-functional collaboration sessions with the engineering team and other departments.
• Learn the AMHS processes in Assembly and Test operations.
• Use data analytics and problem-solving methods to study practical manufacturing challenges and suggest improvements.
• Explore AI-enabled tools that can boost productivity, data analysis and problem-solving.
• Deliverable: identify opportunities to streamline operations and within AMHS, then present findings with data-driven recommendations.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics and Automation or a related field.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship of 4 to 6 months.
• General problem-solving and analytical skills, and a basic understanding of data analytics concepts.

Required skills

• Advantageous: familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, Python or SQL.
• Highly valued: knowledge or experience using AI tools, Generative AI or AI assistants.
