Intern - PIE YE (Yield Enhancement Data Analytics)

About the role

Micron is offering an internship in its Department of Product Integration Engineering, Yield Enhancement, in Singapore. The project, titled Data Analytics for Yield Enhancement in Advanced Memory Manufacturing, gives the intern structured exposure to yield enhancement challenges in advanced memory manufacturing through guided learning and supervised technical exploration. The work applies data analytics to probe-test data, electrical failure modes and fabrication-process metrics, and prepares the intern for future engineering and data-analysis roles in the semiconductor industry.

Key responsibilities

• Study semiconductor probe-testing principles, selected electrical failure modes and relevant yield metrics.
• Analyze relationships between electrical failures, probe-test results and fabrication-process metrics, including inline-monitoring data.
• Apply multivariate data analysis to identify patterns, correlations and yield-improvement opportunities.
• Develop a Python-based analytical solution using statistical, visualization or introductory machine learning methods.
• Explore approved AI-enabled or generative AI workflows for data exploration, solution development and documentation.
• Deliver a multivariate data analysis tool, documented analysis, visualizations and a final technical report and presentation.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Data Science, Computer Engineering or a related engineering or analytics discipline.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship of at least four months.
• Strong willingness to learn new analytical methodologies and to communicate technical findings clearly.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of data analysis, statistics or engineering problem solving.
• Familiarity with Python programming.
• Familiarity with data visualization, machine learning, artificial intelligence or generative AI concepts is advantageous.
