Intern - RDA (Real-Time Defect Analysis)

About the role

Micron is looking for an intern for its Real-Time Defect Analysis (RDA) team in Fab 10N/X, on the project "AI-Enabled Defect Analytics and Yield Investigation". The intern works under engineer guidance on an engineering project focused on defect analysis and semiconductor yield improvement, analyzing defect and yield data, investigating selected excursions and developing analytics or AI-enabled solutions that speed up root-cause identification.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze defect, yield and excursion data to identify trends and correlations.
• Investigate selected wafer, lot, tool and process-related yield issues.
• Develop dashboards, scripts or AI-enabled workflows for defect analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to collect and validate data, and document the methodology and findings.
• Apply statistical analysis to a selected yield investigation and generate data-driven recommendations.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Data Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship of 5 months from January to May 2027.
• Interest in Generative AI, Agentic AI or AI-enabled engineering workflows.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of statistics, data analysis or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, data visualization or equivalent tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Interns may be considered for future full-time positions depending on business needs, role availability, academic completion and demonstrated capabilities. Deliverables include a completed investigation, a dashboard or automation tool, technical documentation and an impact assessment.
