Intern - Silicon Design Validation Engineer (NAND)

About the role

Micron is offering a 5-month full-time internship in its Storage Technology and Products Group, under the project title NAND Silicon Design Validation and Automated Data Analysis. The intern works on the silicon design validation of advanced NAND products, guided by experienced engineers, and has the option to explore AI and machine learning workflows for validation data.

Key responsibilities

• Study an assigned NAND feature or design circuit and document its intended functionality and validation requirements.
• Perform Verilog simulations to understand expected circuit or feature behaviour.
• Develop a customised validation plan and carry out measurements using testers, oscilloscopes, probe stations or other equipment.
• Analyse validation data and generate technical reports using scripts and approved in-house software.
• Develop a prototype workflow for automated data collection, report generation or anomaly detection using scripting and AI or machine learning techniques.
• Deliver a documented validation plan, simulation results, a structured validation dataset, a prototype script or AI workflow, and a final technical report and presentation.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Microelectronics or Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship of 5 months.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of digital electronics, semiconductor devices, circuit design or computer architecture.
• Familiarity with Verilog or another hardware description language.
• Programming or scripting experience in Python, Perl, C or C++.
• Advantageous: data analysis, waveform analysis, generative AI, machine learning or large language model workflows.
