International Service Engineer - Water, Wind & Fuel

About the role

We are looking for a self‑motivated International Service Engineer to provide technical support for Alfa Laval water, wind and fuel systems on board vessels worldwide. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance and customer interaction in a cross‑cultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and promptly report any unsafe practices.
• Perform planned service, commissioning and troubleshooting for systems such as PureBallast, High‑Speed Separators, Fuel Conditioning Modules and Freshwater Generators.
• Prepare service jobs according to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure efficient execution.
• Travel domestically and internationally to vessels, with the possibility of sailing on board.
• Communicate with customers in English, document work performed and obtain signed service reports.
• Identify improvement opportunities and sales leads, and share relevant information internally.
• Contribute to SOP development, provide training to peers and customers, and seek support via ServiceNow or other contacts.
• Respond to emergency service requests to minimise vessel downtime.

Required profile

• High school diploma or higher; a bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering is a plus.
• At least 5 years of field service experience on board vessels, familiar with marine mechanical and electrical systems and industry regulations.
• Fluent in spoken and written English with strong cross‑cultural communication skills.
• Proficient in reporting using MS Word and Excel, and experienced with CRM and planning tools.
• Knowledge of marine separators, ballast treatment systems and automation.
