IT Engineer

About the role

A full-time IT Engineer position based in the Central Region of Singapore. The role covers day-to-day IT support, hardware and software maintenance, network upkeep and system administration, working alongside application and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing IT functions including hardware maintenance, software and hardware upgrades, data migration and system installation, and provide hardware support for printers, monitors, desktop PCs, laptops and smartphones.
• Help plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration and testing of company IT hardware.
• Manage, maintain and back up the company's IT network and desktop systems regularly.
• Investigate and resolve user questions and information systems problems, and troubleshoot network, desktop application and hardware issues, including root-cause analysis of frequent incidents.
• Take part in new system setups or upgrades and monitor system utilization.
• Maintain IT equipment inventory and documentation in line with IT policies, and handle hardware and software licensing and compliance.
• Provide user management and general support for application systems, working closely with application and infrastructure teams, plus ad-hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 3-4 years of prior experience, preferably in a technical support role (user and system support) within a Microsoft environment.
• Willingness to work beyond office hours or on weekends for occasional maintenance or operational needs.

Required skills

• Setting up Windows Server 2016/2019, with knowledge of hardening and securing Wintel systems.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP administration.
• Support for Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 and common desktop applications.
• VMware ESXi and vCenter installation and administration.
• Firewall and network switch configuration and troubleshooting; CCNA or sound networking knowledge is beneficial.
• PowerShell and batch scripting.
• Identification of security issues such as viruses, worms and spyware.
