IT Project Management Office (PMO) Consultant – Banking (Project Governance)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Management Office (PMO) Consultant to support project governance and PMO activities within the IT department of a leading banking organization in Singapore. The consultant will ensure compliance with governance standards, provide accurate reporting, and coordinate across project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Managers and stakeholders to prepare and consolidate weekly project status reports.
• Support project governance meetings by arranging schedules, preparing materials, documenting minutes, and tracking action items to closure.
• Maintain and update project dashboards, governance repositories, and other project information to ensure data accuracy and visibility.
• Collect, validate, and consolidate project‑related information for reporting and governance purposes.
• Monitor and track project action items, risks, issues, and deliverables, following up with relevant parties for timely resolution.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining project governance processes, standards, policies, and documentation.
• Support compliance with organizational and regulatory governance requirements within the IT project portfolio.
• Provide administrative and coordination support to the Team Lead and governance team as required.
• Facilitate communication across project teams to ensure alignment on governance requirements and reporting expectations.
• Prepare presentation materials, governance reports, and management updates for steering committees and review meetings.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of governance processes, reporting, and documentation.
• Perform ad‑hoc governance, coordination, and administrative tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a PMO, project governance, or project coordination role within a Banking IT environment.
• Hands‑on experience supporting or managing projects using the Waterfall project management methodology.
• Strong understanding of project governance, lifecycle management, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
