Japanese Teacher (Middle/High School)

About the role

Stamford American International School, an IB World School in Singapore serving students aged 2 months to 18 years, is looking for a Japanese-speaking teacher to join its Middle/High School team. The school offers the full IB continuum (PYP, MYP and DP) and runs AP, BTEC and Stamford courses alongside them.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver the IB MYP/DP, College Board AP, BTEC and/or Stamford course programs
• Engage a diverse student population in the target curriculum standards, recognising and supporting their individual needs
• Support students' holistic development through formal programs and other contributions
• Support the school community through communication and engagement with stakeholders

Required profile

• Ability to teach Japanese Language and Literature and Japanese Language Acquisition at Middle and High School level
• At least 3 years of experience teaching Grade 6-12 students
• At least 3 years of relevant program experience (IB MYP/IBDP/AP) preferred
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent; professional current teacher licensure or certification required
• Master's degree in a relevant field preferred
• Excellent verbal and written English skills and excellent references on request

Required skills

• Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in using school systems and databases, communications platforms and educational technology
• Candidate preferences: international school teaching experience, curriculum development experience, advisory/pastoral experience and multilingualism
