Kitchen Assistant – Food Lab Support

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support the Food Science (NFS) lab at Loyang View Secondary School. This full‑time, entry‑level position involves maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment while assisting teachers with lesson preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing cloths, cleaning equipment, mopping floors and tidying workstations after each lesson.
• Manage and secure kitchen appliances, gas taps, electrical switches and knives.
• Prepare ingredients for lessons – cutting, weighing, packing and organising stock.
• Operate kitchen and food‑science equipment such as handheld blenders, electric steamers, rice cookers and refractometers.
• Accept and verify food orders and provide continuous support to teachers during lab sessions (excluding lunch breaks).
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Completed primary school education.
• At least 3 years of experience in food handling, kitchen work or related administrative duties, preferably in an educational setting.
• Ability to work efficiently, independently and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of kitchen and food‑science equipment (handheld blender, electric steamer, rice cooker, refractometer).
• Food preparation and ingredient handling.
• Cleaning, sanitation and stock‑taking.
• Basic safety knowledge for gas taps, electrical switches and knife storage.

What we offer

• Full‑time employment with a monthly salary of SGD 1800‑2300.
• Fixed‑term contract from 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2027, with possible extension.
