Lead Platform Engineer – Tier 3 Network Support

About the role

Mastercard’s Global Network Engineering team is looking for a Lead Platform Engineer to own Tier 3 network support for its large‑scale, multi‑vendor MPLS environment. You will design high‑level and low‑level network solutions, coordinate implementation, and ensure operational readiness for new and expanded sites.

Key responsibilities

• Produce HLD and LLD documentation for network expansions and green‑field deployments.
• Coordinate with internal architects, engineering teams, and external vendors to validate designs and manage go‑live activities.
• Provide technical guidance during implementation, testing, and migration phases.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex Layer‑2/Layer‑3 issues across multi‑vendor environments.
• Maintain operational processes, migration plans, and test procedures.
• Participate in on‑call standby support during critical project windows.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with core routing protocols (BGP, MP‑BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS‑IS).
• Deep knowledge of spine‑leaf data‑center architectures and MPLS traffic engineering.
• Proven ability to design and operate SD‑WAN solutions.
• Strong background in network security, firewall policy design, and zero‑trust concepts.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management across regions.
