Lead Staff Engineer / Lead Principal Engineer - Diffusion & Implant

About the role

Micron is looking for a Lead Staff Engineer / Lead Principal Engineer for its Diffusion and Implant process development team. The role leads, hires, mentors and develops a team of Diffusion and Implant engineers, provides regular feedback and career development, and fosters collaboration, accountability and technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive DF and IMP process module development, including cell development, process characterization, integration, process margin improvement and manufacturability for 3D NAND nodes.
• Drive process development activities aligned with the technology development roadmap, delivering robust, scalable, high-performance solutions on time.
• Work with Process Integration, Manufacturing Development, Equipment Engineering and global technology development teams to meet integration requirements and technology breakthroughs.
• Lead the transfer of processes to high-volume manufacturing, supporting pilot ramp, yield improvement and long-term process stability.
• Run DOE-based experiments and data-driven methods to optimize process performance, expand the process window and improve cost effectiveness.
• Implement advanced process monitoring and control strategies for stable, repeatable, manufacturable performance.
• Lead process simplification, cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives across multi-functional teams.
• Partner with equipment and materials suppliers on early engagement, technology evaluation and consumable qualification, and drive supplier execution and joint problem solving.
• Promote a strong safety culture and align with Micron's safety and IP protection policies.
• Use data analytics, AI and machine learning to improve process understanding, enable predictive modeling and speed up optimization, integrating AI-assisted tools into daily work.
