Lead Telecom Designer

About the role

The Lead Telecommunications Designer will head the design and drafting of telecom systems for FPSO, FLNG and offshore facilities across concept, FEED and EPCI phases. The role ensures all layouts, cable routing and installation details meet company, client, class and international standards while supporting safe and cost‑effective construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead telecommunications design and drafting activities for FPSO, FLNG and offshore facility projects.
• Coordinate design deliverables with structural, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, marine, hull and HVAC disciplines.
• Allocate and supervise designers and CAD personnel, ensuring consistency and quality of drawings.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, commissioning and final hand‑over, resolving design queries.
• Drive continuous improvement of drafting standards, procedures and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years telecommunications design experience in offshore oil & gas, with at least 5 years at a leading FPSO/FLNG EPC contractor.
• Proven experience in equipment layout, cable routing and detailed installation design.
• Strong coordination, communication and leadership abilities, fluent in English.
• Experience supporting construction and commissioning activities is desirable.
