Lecturer - Built Environment Technology

About the role

The School of Engineering is recruiting a Lecturer in Built Environment Technology. You will design and deliver industry-relevant curriculum for full-time and continuing education programmes covering architectural technology, building services, sustainability and digital delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop authentic learning experiences through case studies, projects, laboratory activities, simulations and industry-based assessments.
• Mentor students in their learning, internships, projects, competitions and career development, and supervise student projects and work-based learning.
• Engage industry, professional and public-sector stakeholders to support curriculum enhancement, applied projects and workplace learning.
• Contribute to curriculum review and quality improvement using industry developments, regulatory changes and learner feedback.
• Apply emerging technologies such as BIM, Integrated Digital Delivery, AI-enabled workflows and smart-building technologies in teaching and project work.
• Maintain professional currency in Built Environment practices and sustainability trends, and support school initiatives including outreach, recruitment, industry engagement and continuing education.

Required profile

• A relevant qualification in architecture, architectural technology, building services engineering, sustainability, construction management or a related Built Environment discipline.
• At least three years of relevant industry experience in consultancy, project delivery, facilities management, sustainability, digital construction or similar.
• Experience in architectural technology, building services design, sustainability analysis, BIM/VDC workflows, digital construction or smart buildings.
• Strong communication, mentoring and stakeholder-management skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Interest in emerging technologies and continuous professional development; formal teaching experience is not required.
