Lecturer – Common Business Programme (2‑Year Contract)

About the role

This is a two‑year fixed‑term position as a Lecturer for the Common Business Programme within the School of Business & Accountancy. You will teach both PET and CET learners, develop curriculum and assessment materials, and support student learning across full‑time and continuing‑education streams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop teaching and assessment resources and deliver lessons for PET and CET cohorts.
• Maintain and regularly review the teaching curriculum, recommending improvements to enhance learning outcomes and employability.
• Stay updated on current and emerging trends in finance, accounting, and related regulations.
• Handle administrative tasks related to teaching activities.
• Supervise and mentor students in competitions, consultancy projects, and other experiential learning initiatives.
• Provide consultation and mentorship to support student learning.
• Identify and establish new collaborations with industry partners for curriculum development and consultancy projects.
• Organise and lead overseas study trips, immersion programmes, and student exchange initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of relevant experience in financial accounting.
• Exposure to statistics through education or work experience.
• Proficiency with industry‑standard tools such as Excel and a solid foundation in accounting principles.
• Commitment to staying current with evolving financial regulations and integrating them into teaching.
• Passion for education and a strong interest in teaching both youth (full‑time) and adult (continuing‑education) learners.
• Self‑driven, independent, and able to collaborate within a multidisciplinary academic team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex quantitative concepts.
• Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
