Lecturer (Cybersecurity) - School of Engineering

About the role

Nanyang Polytechnic is hiring a full-time Lecturer in Cybersecurity within its School of Engineering. The role delivers high-quality education covering foundational cybersecurity concepts, with broad exposure to cloud computing and software fundamentals. It contributes to curriculum delivery, provides academic guidance, supports industry-relevant student projects and works with internal and external partners. The position is listed as hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate learning units on fundamental cybersecurity concepts (threats, risk management, basic security technologies), network security, cloud computing principles and foundational software systems.
• Supervise student projects and provide academic guidance.
• Develop and update training materials and student assessments.
• Support curriculum reviews and academic operations.
• Stay current with emerging technology trends, integrate updated practices into teaching and support industry-aligned learning initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
• Solid grounding in cybersecurity fundamentals, with knowledge of cloud computing architecture and services and basic software development principles.
• Experience or familiarity with standard security tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and common software environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a clear interest in teaching and supporting learners.
