Lecturer - Robotics & Smart Building (2-Year Contract)

About the role

ITE College East is recruiting a Lecturer in Robotics and Smart Building technologies for a 2-year contract. Beyond teaching and supporting students' lifelong learning, the lecturer carries out industry or consultancy projects to stay current with industry changes and keeps strong links with industry and schools.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and facilitate learning in robotics and smart building technologies
• Carry out industry or consultancy projects to stay relevant in the profession
• Maintain strong linkages with industry and schools
• Take part in regular industry attachments or experience to update professional skills, knowledge and practice

Required profile

• Training in Robotics, Smart Building Technologies, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience
• Able to develop students' skills in designing, implementing and integrating robotics and smart building solutions
• Experience in one or more of: design, programming and integration of robotic, automation and autonomous systems; smart building systems (building automation, energy management, security, environmental monitoring); IoT applications, sensors, controllers and industrial communication protocols
• Proficiency in Python and C++, and embedded systems and Linux-based platforms
• Advantageous: ROS, AI, machine vision, cloud platforms or data visualisation

Qualified candidates may be considered for Senior Lecturer or equivalent positions, with career development toward leadership roles in the Colleges or Headquarters. Applicants can check their application status after 8 weeks from the closing date.
