Lecturer / Senior Lecturer - Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering

About the role

Singapore Polytechnic is recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer for its School of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. The appointee contributes to the school's strategic objectives by developing curricula, introducing new courses, building industry partnerships and promoting Sustainability Engineering. The role sits within the course management group, which engages industry for collaboration and internships, promotes continuing education training (CET) programmes and identifies industry trends.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support for the diploma course and general school operations
• Collaborate with industry on field trips, student-industry projects, internships and overseas programmes
• Develop modules and deliver full-time and part-time industry-relevant courses for students, internal stakeholders and industry personnel
• Guide students through effective learning activities and act as a personal tutor providing pastoral care
• Organise outreach activities

Required profile

• Competence to teach Thermofluids, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics and Introduction to Sustainability Reporting and Strategies
• Relevant work experience in thermal systems and sustainability development
• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Facility Management, Sustainability Engineering or a related field
• Good oral and written communication skills; self-driven, independent team player
• Passion for education and interest in teaching and mentoring young adults and adult learners
• An ISO Lead Auditor certification is advantageous
