Legal Consultant – Intellectual Property

About the role

Axiom is seeking an experienced IP Legal Consultant to partner with a large tech client, supporting business units across Southeast Asia and the broader APAC region in developing and enhancing intellectual property governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and update regional IP governance policies, rules, educational materials, SOPs and operational processes.
• Advise on tools and processes to improve user and IP rights holder experience while managing IP risks.
• Support investigation, management and resolution of high‑impact local IP disputes, complaints and incidents.
• Partner with Policy, Operations, Product, Trust & Safety and other stakeholders to identify legal risks and implement scalable solutions.
• Manage relationships with brands, industry associations, law enforcement, regulators and other external parties.
• Monitor developments in local IP laws, regulations and industry standards across Singapore and SEA.
• Provide legal guidance and lead cross‑functional initiatives to implement regulatory changes.
• Develop and deliver IP training and educational sessions for internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• 4+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably with substantial IP work.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore and/or Southeast Asian IP laws, regulations and enforcement practices.
• Experience advising on IP issues in technology, platform, e‑commerce or social media environments.
• Ability to identify legal and regulatory risks proactively and propose commercially practical solutions.
• Proven ability to work across functions, geographies and teams while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of building trusted relationships.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities to navigate complex and ambiguous matters.
