Legal Director, Commercial

About the role

CodaCoda is seeking a Legal Director, Commercial to lead its global commercial contracting framework and provide end‑to‑end legal support across fintech, payments, e‑commerce and digital platforms. The role spans APAC and the Americas and works closely with product, business and compliance teams in a fast‑growing, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the global commercial contracting framework, including templates, playbooks and standard positions.
• Develop and enforce contracting standards and policies to ensure consistency, scalability and risk alignment across all regions.
• Advise regional business teams on complex, high‑value or non‑standard commercial arrangements, defining fallback positions and risk parameters.
• Support regional M&A, strategic partnerships and restructuring initiatives.
• Partner with Corporate Secretary on governance, entity management and intra‑group structuring.
• Collaborate with Legal Operations to improve contracting efficiency, automation and lifecycle management.
• Work with Compliance and other control functions to align with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of combined law‑firm and in‑house experience with strong commercial negotiation expertise.
• Proven experience negotiating cross‑border commercial contracts, including exposure to US counterparties.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
