Legal Manager (APAC)

About the role

As the lead legal business partner for Singapore and the broader Asia region, you will provide strategic, risk‑aware legal guidance across all commercial and operational activities. You will also build a disciplined legal and governance framework to ensure compliance and uphold corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support for daily site operations, including leases, facility services, equipment procurement, sales, HR and engineering projects.
• Lead contract negotiations and maintain standard commercial templates such as customer, distribution and key‑account agreements.
• Manage intellectual property matters, including licensing and R&D contracts.
• Oversee litigation management and coordinate M&A transactions.
• Deliver legal advice on product safety and act as Data Protection Officer for Soitec Singapore.
• Supervise corporate secretarial duties for all Asian entities and manage outside counsel.
• Drive compliance programmes (anti‑bribery, antitrust, investigations) in coordination with headquarters.
• Develop training for field and sales personnel and improve contract review processes.

Required profile

• Admitted to practice law in Singapore with a valid practicing certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience, either in a law firm or as in‑house counsel for a large listed company, preferably with international exposure.
• Proven ability to analyse legal and commercial risks and provide practical advice to business leaders.
• Experience in managing corporate governance, compliance and data privacy matters.
