Leveraged and Acquisition Finance Intern

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Leveraged and Acquisition Finance intern for its Asian Investment Banking Division's Leveraged and Acquisition Finance team, within Global Corporate and Investment Banking. The internship runs from 11 January 2027 to 30 June 2027 and is based in Singapore. You will work alongside investment banking professionals to support leveraged financing activity for private equity sponsor clients and gain an overview of MUFG's products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Gain holistic experience across the deal life cycle, including origination, business proposals, deal execution and post-deal monitoring.
• Prepare pitch books to support origination of M&A financing mandates and strategic financing dialogue with private equity sponsors.
• Support senior team members in financing transactions (credit analysis, structuring, financial modelling, valuation analysis, peer and ratings analysis) and in periodic portfolio monitoring of leveraged finance deals.
• Learn from experienced stakeholders and work across banking products such as Global Markets, Debt Capital Markets (loans and bonds) and sector coverage.
• Develop presentation and communication skills by presenting projects and case studies to business partners and management.

Required profile

• Keen interest in the finance industry with relevant prior internship experience.
• Action-oriented, energetic and entrepreneurial, with strong communication and influencing skills.
• Collaborative approach with eagerness to learn, strong ethics and alignment with MUFG's core values.
• Open to Singaporean and PR students only; the internship is open to students from partner universities in Singapore.
