Life Skills Trainer (Special Needs Education)

About the role

Pathlight School is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Trainer to support students on the autism spectrum aged 7 to 18. You will design and deliver customized life‑skills lessons and facilitate real‑world learning experiences that promote independence and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Customize and deliver life‑skills lessons tailored to each student’s needs, covering social skills, daily routines, and independent living.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the Life Skills curriculum and related teaching resources.
• Plan and implement immersive learning experiences such as residential camps, boarding programs, and overseas trips.
• Lead experiential activities, community outings, and practical scenarios to bridge theory and application.
• Monitor student progress through ongoing assessments and maintain detailed portfolios.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and community partners to create a supportive learning network.

Required profile

• Attained DISE from NIE or a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching or coaching life skills to students with special needs.
• Proficient in delivering structured lessons and creating engaging activities that address individual learning needs.
• Effective communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and community partners.
