Linux System Administrator

About the role

The Linux System Administrator is responsible for the administration, availability, security, performance, and operational support of enterprise Linux infrastructure. The role ensures Linux servers and associated services remain stable, secure, patched, monitored, backed up, and compliant with organizational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers (primarily RHEL) and related services.
• Perform day‑to‑day administration including user/group management, file systems, permissions, services, processes, and package management.
• Manage server provisioning, upgrades, migrations, decommissioning, and OS patching.
• Monitor server health (CPU, memory, disk, network) and troubleshoot performance, storage, and connectivity issues.
• Conduct vulnerability remediation, security hardening, and ensure CIS compliance.
• Maintain LVM, NFS, storage configurations, and support authentication technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, SSH, sudo, and PAM.
• Develop and maintain Bash scripts to automate operational tasks.
• Participate in incident, problem, change, and capacity‑management processes and provide on‑call production support.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 5+ years of hands‑on Linux system administration in a production or enterprise environment.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE or equivalent.
