Lubricants, Paints and Chemicals Technical Intern (6 Months)

About the role

Maersk is seeking a driven technical intern for its Lubricants, Paints and Chemicals (LUPAC) procurement category in Singapore. The intern joins a global team of eight nationalities working alongside tribology, chemistry and engineering experts to help run projects that save fuel and improve vessel reliability. The internship lasts 6 months full time and is based in Singapore (Paya Lebar).

Key responsibilities

• Project management, planning and coordination of engineering and lubrication initiatives aimed at improving vessel efficiency and reliability.
• Analyse project data and produce summaries for internal decision-makers.
• Coordinate and manage collaboration with laboratories, machinery experts and vessel crews.
• Support the development of category management strategies and of processes, tools and standards that improve reliability and consistency.

Required profile

• Technical background in engineering, chemistry, tribology or a related field.
• Experience in project management, including planning, tracking and executing actions, coordinating with ship crews and stakeholders, and recommending actions to management.
• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data to support decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving ability and willingness to learn quickly.
• Basic requirement: proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Education and experience in engineering, chemistry or oil application/analysis strongly preferred.
