Manufacturing Excellence Manager

About the role

West Pharmaceutical Services is looking for a Manufacturing Excellence Manager in Jurong, an onsite position covering all scheduled workdays. The role leads the Production Engineering and Production Training teams to develop, implement and continuously improve manufacturing systems across all production departments, including production training systems and manufacturing digitalization. It works with cross-functional teams to advance safety, quality, delivery, productivity, compliance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and govern manufacturing systems, standards and best practices, and improve performance through structured problem solving, CAPA implementation, standardized work, capability development and digital manufacturing solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost.
• Use data, operational metrics and change management to adopt new systems and technologies and deliver measurable results.
• Lead the Production Engineering team, set up issue investigation processes and corrective and preventive actions, and prioritize engineering and operational improvement projects.
• Lead the Production Training function, ensuring training systems such as TWI, Job Instruction Breakdown, on-the-job training and competency management meet requirements and comply with quality and regulatory standards.
• Lead digital manufacturing solutions including SAP HANA, DMO, dLDMS, AI and future digital platforms.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, Plant Engineering, Supply Chain, Human Resources and D&T on audits, inspections and capability development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven leadership experience in manufacturing environments and experience leading Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence or Continuous Improvement programs.
• Good understanding of GMP and regulatory requirements in highly regulated industries.
• Experience leading ERP/MES or digital manufacturing system implementations and cross-functional transformation initiatives.

Required skills

• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent problem-solving certification preferred.
• Lean manufacturing, operational excellence and team development.
