Machinery Engineer – Oil & Gas Downstream

About the role

The client, a major downstream oil & gas player, seeks a Machinery Engineer to support safe and reliable operations at its manufacturing complex on Jurong Island. You will apply engineering expertise to troubleshoot equipment, lead root‑cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement across the refinery and petrochemical facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day field engineering support for machinery equipment, including troubleshooting and resolution.
• Conduct engineering assessments, design reviews, and equipment failure root‑cause analyses.
• Lead long‑term equipment improvement initiatives and develop engineering solutions for specific problems.
• Support major shutdowns and major equipment inspections (e.g., turbine/generator major inspections).
• Act as the technical point of contact for your area of expertise and deliver technical training as required.
• Ensure compliance with site SHE protocols and company control requirements.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of machinery engineering experience in a refinery or petrochemical environment.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and ability to apply academic fundamentals to practical problems.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on safety and compliance.
