Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Mechanical)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for independently troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems on the production floor. You will respond to breakdowns during your shift, ensuring rapid equipment restoration and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as motors, control circuits, contactors, sensors, and switches.
• Diagnose mechanical faults in gearboxes, pneumatic systems, belts, bearings, rotating equipment and basic hydraulic systems.
• Carry out mechanical adjustments, component replacements and minor repairs to restore operation.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Conduct basic PLC fault checking, monitor SCADA alarms and perform simple troubleshooting of PLC interfaces and K‑Tron feeder systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and breakdown reports in the CMMS.
• Perform regular facility inspections, basic repairs and support equipment installation and calibration.
• Follow LOTO procedures, conduct basic root‑cause analysis (5 Why) and uphold 5S standards.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently during assigned shifts.
• Strong adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Basic analytical skills for fault diagnosis and root‑cause analysis.
• Effective communication and teamwork with production and maintenance staff.

Required skills

• Electrical troubleshooting (motors, control circuits, contactors, sensors, switches).
• Mechanical troubleshooting (gearboxes, pneumatic, hydraulic, bearings, belts).
• Basic PLC fault checking and I/O monitoring.
• SCADA alarm monitoring.
• Reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• CMMS documentation.
• Basic calibration and functional checks.
• Root‑cause analysis (5 Why).
• LOTO procedures.
• K‑Tron feeder system knowledge.
