Manager, Bus Procurement

About the role

The Manager, Bus Procurement plays a key role in shaping Singapore's next-generation public bus fleet. By 2030, half of the 6,000-strong bus fleet will be replaced with electric vehicles, and this role sits at the intersection of engineering, policy and sustainability. It involves supporting strategic bus procurement and collaborating with global manufacturers on emerging technologies such as electric propulsion, autonomous systems and smart connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Fleet renewal and replacement: assist in developing and executing strategies to renew and replace the fleet to meet operational, safety and sustainability objectives.
• Tender specifications and evaluation: support drafting new bus requirements, preparing tender specifications and evaluating submissions for best value.
• Quality assurance: conduct pre-delivery inspections and testing of bus equipment against contract specifications and operational standards.
• Partnership management: build relationships with overseas bus manufacturers and suppliers and stay informed on industry innovations.
• Market research and design specifications: research emerging bus technologies and recommend design requirements for future tenders.
• Procurement budget: support cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality within the procurement budget.

Required profile

• Knowledge in Engineering (Electrical, Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical, Automotive or equivalent).
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in automotive, engineering or related industries; familiarity with battery systems, servicing and bus maintenance is advantageous.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in IT.
