Manager / Deputy / Assistant Manager, Deployment Operations
sggovterp · Singapore
Job description
About the role
The Centre for Autonomous Mobility (CAM) leads Singapore's national effort to deploy autonomous vehicles (AVs) safely and at scale, across passenger cars, public buses and goods vehicles. This role sits in the Deployment Ops team, which takes each AV deployment from plan to operating service: owning the programme schedule, driving delivery across workstreams and managing operators, developers and infrastructure stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and manage each deployment programme, building and owning its plan, schedule and milestones and tracking progress against baseline.
- Work with operators and developers to evaluate, review and fine-tune service routes and concepts of operations.
- Identify risks, dependencies and bottlenecks early and develop mitigation plans.
- Align deployment operational plans with longer-term AV deployment strategy and transport plans.
- Run deployments end to end, from planning through applications, vehicle approvals, testing and service launch, keeping multiple workstreams on tight timelines.
- Work with industry and technology partners to resolve issues quickly and get vehicles tested and deployed on schedule.
- Oversee operational readiness, develop standard operating procedures, monitor performance, manage incidents and drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate across industry players, operators, government agencies and internal teams, and partner with Corporate Communications, industry media and the Engagement team on public announcements and events.
- Prepare clear progress reports for senior management, turning complex operational detail into clear recommendations.
Required profile
- Knowledge preferably in engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on programme management and project planning.
- Experience in operations management, contracts or vendor management.
- A strong programme or project management track record, with at least 2 years planning and delivering medium-to-large-scale projects or programmes.
- Organised and meticulous, able to track progress against baseline and keep many moving parts on schedule while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Works well across stakeholders, builds alignment across cross-functional teams and external partners, and knows when to escalate for decisions.
- Communicates clearly, writing and reporting well with an eye for detail.
- Takes initiative and stays calm in ambiguity, helping shape plans as they evolve.
