Manager, Operating Theatre Ops (Central Hospital)

About the role

The Manager, Operating Theatre Ops will support the Deputy Director and senior leadership in planning, coordinating and monitoring day‑to‑day operating theatre resources across a central hospital. The role focuses on improving theatre utilisation, case flow, on‑time starts and overall operational excellence through data‑driven optimisation and process innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Support Deputy Director (OT Operations) and senior leadership in day‑to‑day OT resource planning, coordination and monitoring.
• Coordinate multi‑stakeholder planning to improve theatre utilisation, case flow, on‑time starts, turnover and operational excellence across all operating theatres.
• Maintain OT dashboards and senior‑management reports, translate insights into work plans, trackers and timely escalations.
• Conduct capacity planning, simulations and predictive analytics to move from retrospective reporting to proactive optimisation.
• Improve inventory governance by reviewing SKU and par levels, reorganising OT stores, streamlining processes and supporting smart‑inventory pilots.
• Coordinate requirements and milestone tracking for major OT development projects such as Medical Tower, Hybrid OT and OT ramp‑up initiatives.
• Lead process reviews, value‑stream mapping and co‑design of OT flow with surgical heads, surgeons, anaesthetists and nursing teams.
• Advocate automation, digitisation and job redesign to close operational gaps and boost productivity.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operating‑theatre or clinical operations management.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and drive process improvement.
• Experience in inventory management and governance within a healthcare setting.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with senior leadership, clinicians and operational staff.
